Teacher Training Programme on Integrating CAPS into Museum Learning

The Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria (Javett-UP) will host the Teacher Training Programme: Integrating CAPS into Museum Learning on Saturday, 25 July 2026. The programme will explore practical approaches to enriching classroom learning through art, heritage, and museum-based education, while supporting the integration of CAPS-aligned teaching strategies.

If you are a high school or FET educator teaching Visual Arts, History, Design or Life Orientation, or are pursuing a career in art education, this professional development workshop is not to be missed!

Facilitated by Dr Delene Human, Senior Lecturer for History of Art, Art Practical and Art Methodologies at the University of Pretoria, the session will combine guided discussions and hands-on activities to explore how museum visits can support CAPS outcomes, deepen learner engagement and introduce learners to career pathways within the arts and cultural sector.
